Barnaby completed the Bar Vocational Course with a scholarship from Inner Temple, having graduated from the University of Kent at Canterbury. He has a varied legal background which includes paralegal work in the area of criminal and family law, legal research at the Department for Constitutional Affairs (Tribunal Service Programme), and 18 months experience as a County Court Advocate. He has been appeared in the Employment Tribunals representing both Claimants and Respondents in the full range of employment law matters.
Barnaby was Chair of the Free Representation Unit Management Committee in 2008/09 and is currently a part-time member of the Education Appeals/Exclusion Appeals Panel, an education Tribunal which deals with admissions and exclusion decisions in schools.
