Richard studied Law and Philosophy as a Joint Honours programme at the University of Hull, where he achieved an upper second class degree. He then moved on to undertake the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns Of Court School of Law, earning a grade of Very Competent and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Skills. He has recently completed an LLM at King’s College London, on which he specialised in Employment Law & Human Rights Law.
Richard is an experienced Advocate, whose practice and experience spans all areas of Employment Law. Unfair Dismissal, Race/Sex/Age/Disability Discrimination & Harassment, TUPE, Redundancy, Working Time & Wages, are but a few examples of the many cases in which Richard has acted for both claimants and respondents, in the Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Although he has had significant experience of Claimant cases and has worked with the Free Representation Unit for over two years, Richard has focused his professional practice on the representation of the Respondent.
